Baidu Launched Product for Thai and Middle East Markets

Baidu quietly launched two products for oversea markets, Baidu Zhidao (Baidu Answers) in Arabic and navigation site hao123 in Thai. Baidu Zhidao is a very popular Q&A site in China and Baidu attemps to extend its success in Middle East markets. So far on zhidao.baidu.com.ag, there are over 6,000 questions answered.

Stunning Transformers Display on Baidu Zhidao

Users who conducted a search using “transformers” on Baidu Zhidao (Baidu Answers) saw a pretty cool transformation animation as shown above; it’s not a flash but Javascript that creates this effect. Now we all know Baidu can be very creative too.

Baidu has been internal testing a Knol clone, called Baidu Jingyan (“Jingyan” means “experience”) for a while and it has just launched it.

Baidu Zhidao, similar to Yahoo Answers, launched API platform. There are so far nine partners including abang.com (about.com in China) who have implemented Baidu Zhidao API. Users can ask and answer questions across different websites directly or indirectly via its powerful APIs.
