In Q1 2015, the total transaction value of China online advertising market was RMB37.87 billion (USD$6.19 billion) with an increase of 36.6% from the same period of the last year. It is estimated that for next 3 quarters, it will grow with 40% each quarter.
In Q1 2015, of all types of ads, search engine ads, e-commerce ads, banner ads accounted for 36.6%, 24.1% and 17.2% by market share. Classified ads, e-commerce ads and video ads’ growth rate were 78.6%, 52.9% and 45.7% respectively, ranking the top 3 ones by growth rate.
In Q1 2015, Baidu had RMB12.73 billion (USD$2.07 billion) with an increase of 34% from the same period in last year in revenue, ranking the top, followed by Taobao (RMB8.35 billion) and Tencent (2.03 billion).
In terms of growth rate of revenue, Qunar, iQiyi and Tencent had good performance in Q1 2015. Supported by sources from WeChat Moments, QQ zone, Tencent Guangdiantong and WeChat advertising established new social advertising department.
