According to iResearch’s latest data, China’s Q3 online video market in 2010 reached 1.39 billion yuan (about US$208 million), up 32.4% compared to the previous quarter.
The online video market in China is estimated to reach 16.99 billion in 2013.
Two Chinese online video companies, Tudou and Youku, are going public. Youku will value itself at $1.1 billion despite having lost $25.2 million through the first three quarters of this year, according to its filings with SEC. Its competitor Tudou similarly lost $12.6 million in the same period.
We will see whether the IPO can help them make a difference in China online video market.
