According to statistics by China’s Electronic Bank, the total number of personal online banking users reached approximately 300 million in the first half of 2012.
In the light of the interim statements, the performance of several players are quite noticeable. Here are some data for H1 2012:
- Agriculture Bank of China has 77.14 million personal online banking users and its transactions amount reached 39.97 billion yuan (USD 6.32 billion)
- Bank of China: 78.08 million registered personal e-banking users, growing for 40.13% compared with the same period in 2011. And the growth of transaction amount is 30.17%.
- Construction Bank of China: 101.68 million online banking users, up 20.27% from the end of 2011. The total number of online banking users from these three banks has come to the level of 250 million, indicating strong growth for H1 2012
