Alibaba Cloud, or called Aliyun in China, announced that it has the third biggest market share in the global Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) market and the biggest in the Asia Pacific region for the third year in a row in 2019, according to a report from Gartner.
Alibaba Cloud market share grew by 7 percentage points as of the end of H1 2017 to 47.6% in China’s public cloud (IaaS) market, followed by Tencent, Kingsoft, China Telecom, and UCloud according to IDC.
Alibaba reported revenue growth of 60%, the highest growth rate since its IPO. They also reported very strong fiscal year revenue growth of 56% with annual non-GAAP free cash flow of approximately US$10 billion.
GMV transacted on Alibaba China retail marketplaces was RMB837 billion (US$126 billion), an increase of RMB164 billion (US$25 billion), or 24% year-over-year, with mobile GMV accounting for 75% of total GMV according to Alibaba.
Aliyun, Alibaba Group’s cloud computing services company, announced a search product, OpenSearch.
