WeChat Mini-Programs have finally passed through a period of high publicity and are settling into one of the silent advances and steady development, according to data from QuestMobile. Despite both hype and opposition, WeChat Mini-Programs will bring significant change in the future.
Following WeChat’s Mini-Programs, a variety of similar mini-programs or “light apps” have been developed by other companies, and the top ten mobile phone manufacturers have entered into an informal “fast application” alliance.
WeChat Mini-Programs have hit 470 million monthly users, and as of March, there were 140 million active daily users. “Mini-games” account for 28 of the top 100 programs, but services and shopping are rising quickly with 13 and 12 of the top 100, respectively.
