WeChat team announced the launch of brand search on WeChat Official Accounts platforms. Those having brand search enabled will get extra features including a brand zone and micro-page.
Brand zone is the designated area for verified brands on WeChat search results where users can acquire brand information and official contacts. Micro-page is a Mini-Program providing modules like brand introduction, main products, services, contacts, and etc.
Brand Search can be activated by completing the brand zone and micro-page settings as well as getting through the verification. As long as you are not from finance or pharmaceutical industry, you can activate your brand search on WeChat if your official account has trademark protection.
This doesn’t seem entirely new as we observed its Boutique Store in early 2018. The WeChat Boutique Store looks more like a landing page, triggered by search and similar to Baidu brand zone product.
